Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our licensing options and rights.

What's the difference between WAV and MP3?

WAV files are uncompressed, high-quality audio files used in professional production. They maintain all the original sound quality but have larger file sizes. MP3 files are compressed and suitable for basic use but offer lower quality than WAV files.

What are Trackouts/Stems?

Trackouts (also called stems) are individual instrument tracks of the beat. They allow you to mix each element separately (drums, bass, melody, etc.), providing maximum creative control for your production.

Can I upgrade my license later?

Yes, you can upgrade from a lower-tier license to a higher one by paying the difference in price. For example, if you purchased a Basic license for R300 and later want to upgrade to a Standard license that costs R600, you would only need to pay the R300 difference.

Do I need to give credit to the producer?

Yes, all licenses require you to credit the producer in the format: "Produced by [Producer Name]" in your project's credits, description, or metadata. This applies to all distribution formats including streaming platforms, physical releases, and videos.

What happens if I exceed the stream/distribution limits?

If you anticipate exceeding the limits of your current license, you should upgrade to a higher tier license. Continuing to use a beat beyond the licensed limits constitutes a breach of the license agreement. Contact us if you have any questions about upgrading.

What's the difference between Exclusive and Premium licenses?

With an Exclusive license, the beat is removed from our marketplace and no one else can purchase it. You become the sole owner (though the producer retains composition credits). With a Premium license, you get extensive usage rights including stems and unlimited streams, but the producer can still sell the beat to others.
